“I very much take to heart the quotation that appears at the top of this page. Those of us involved in vocations work want above all to help you to discover your vocation whatever it may be. That’s what matters most.
But I also know that ‘young people can only choose what they know and love’, as one of our documents puts it. And so I also want to help you to get to know the Society of Jesus. This website is just one way that we seek ‘to present the Society of Jesus… in such a way that those whom God calls will know and appreciate who and what we are.’
In the section Jesuits today you will, I hope, discover answers to such questions as Who are the Jesuits, What do they do, and Why do they do it.
Here in Vocation News, you will find out what’s available to help you to grow in the sense of your own vocation (books, retreats and other events can be a great help). The photo album will give you an idea of some of the events that take place around the country.
In this section (see Jesuit video stories) you’ll also have the chance to listen to the stories of men who have grappled with many of the questions that you yourself are probably facing now. I hope you’ll find their stories encouraging and inspiring.
The third main part of this section is about the novitiate. If you are considering the possibility of a Jesuit vocation, you are probably curious to know what the novitiate is like, who’s there at the moment and how they’re finding it.
